This is a series of five public meetings in the Hutt Valley to provide an opportunity for interested people to learn about the options to electrify their homes and lives. The sessions are:
- Petone - Wednesday 29th April (book tickets)
- Upper Hutt - Wednesday 17th June (book tickets)
- Stokes valley - Tuesday 28th July (book tickets)
- Wainuiomata - Wednesday 16th September (book tickets)
- Hutt Central - Thursday 29th October (book tickets)

Power Up the Hutt is a free five-part community event series bringing together Hutt Valley residents who want to cut their power bills, reduce their carbon footprint, and future-proof their homes.
New Zealand has reached an electrification tipping point — households can now save money and significantly reduce their emissions by switching their appliances and vehicles to electric. But knowing where to start can feel overwhelming.
These friendly, practical evenings — hosted by local volunteers with experience in electrification and drawing on the research of Rewiring Aotearoa — will walk you through the real options available right now: solar panels and home batteries, electric vehicles, heat pump hot water systems, induction cooking, and making the switch from gas to electricity.
No jargon. No sales pitch. Just straight talk from your neighbours about what works, what it costs, and how to get started.

Electrify the Hutt is a not for profit organisation established by local enthusiasts who are keen to give advice and support people who are interested in their own electrification journey. We are a local commuinity partner for Rewiring Aotearoa which is working with central Governement, local Government and community organisations to support the electrification of New Zealand and the move away from fossil fuel use.
