The Society
Electrify the Hutt is a community-led initiative based in Lower Hutt, New Zealand, dedicated to promoting the adoption of electric technologies in homes, businesses, and transportation. Operating under the umbrella of Rewiring Aotearoa, the movement aims to reduce carbon emissions, lower energy costs, and enhance energy resilience within the Hutt Valley community.
The organization focuses on educating residents about the benefits of transitioning from fossil fuels to electric alternatives, such as heat pumps, induction cooktops, electric vehicles (EVs), solar panels, and home battery systems. By facilitating this shift, Electrify the Hutt seeks to empower individuals and businesses to take control of their energy usage and contribute to a more sustainable future.
